Iowa Black® RQ

The Iowa Black quenchers are a family of proprietary dark quenchers developed by Integrated DNA Technologies that are offered as 3’-end on-support modifications. They have excellent properties for use in fluorescence-quenched probes. These compounds are stable over a wide range of conditions, including pH and heat.

Iowa Black RQ has a broad absorbance spectra ranging from 500 to 700 nm with peak absorbance at 656 nm. This quencher is ideal for use with TEX 615, TYE 563, TYE 665, and other fluorescent dyes that emit in the red spectral range.

3Prime maintains the chemical structures of Iowa Black FQ, Iowa Black RQ and certain other fluorescent dye supports as proprietary trade secrets and thus does not publish the chemical structures to our website.  3Prime can disclose those structures pursuant to a confidentiality agreement, which would prohibit their broader publication to third parties.
