The two most common pore sizes are 500 and 1000 angstrom. They accommodate more than 90% of all oligo applications. Our experience has been that 500 angstrom CPG is recommended for oligos of 35 bases or less, and that 1000 angstrom CPG can be used more effectively for oligos from 36 to above 100 bases. The surface area of 1000 angstrom CPG is roughly half that of the 500 angstrom CPG. Therefore, loadings above 40-50 uM per gram are not possible with 1000 angstrom CPG.

3-Prime solid supports have been perfected over many years, using a combination of internal development and collaboration with some of todays leading oligonucleotide scientists.
Prime Performance CPG is optimized for the trade-offs between parameters such as pore diameter, pore volume, and specific surface area, bulk density and ligand distribution, and is specifically intended for oligo synthesis applications. Our techniques of end-capping potentially active side-sites have also been perfected over many years to minimize n-x impurities.
We also improved the performance of our premium LCAA linked nucleoside supports by using a proprietary linker co-developed by SIRNA Therapeutics. The rigid nature of this linker enables syntheses of higher yield and purity, regardless of sequence length. Our Aminopropyl-linked nucleoside supports provide a more cost-effective synthesis approach, with purities and yields that satisfy many common oligo applications. |
